Concrete companies near me — Columbia, MO

When a licensed pro paves with concrete in Columbia, they first prepare the area by excavating and grading the sub-base. They then set forms to define the edges of the new concrete surface. Reinforcement, like rebar or wire mesh, is placed within the forms to add strength. The concrete is then poured, leveled, and finished to the desired texture. Finally, they allow it to cure properly to achieve its full strength.

In simple terms, cement is a component, while concrete is the final product. Cement acts as a binder, typically Portland cement, which reacts chemically with water and other aggregates like sand and gravel to form concrete. Concrete is the material used for paving, slabs, and structures. When discussing concrete paving projects in Columbia, the pros are referring to the hardened mixture, not just the cement powder.
